About Sukh Radio
A family of online stations from Melbourne, with a site for every language.
Sukh Radio is a family of online stations made in Melbourne for listeners across Australia and anywhere else the stream reaches. sukhradio.com is where the whole family lives: every station and every language has a site of its own, and this one is where you see them all at once and choose between them.
The family is built on two simple ideas. The first is language. Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri and English each get a station of their own, so nobody has to wait for the one hour a week when their language finally gets a slot. The second is mood. Retro, the 90s, ghazals, folk, Sufi and party mixes run as stations in their own right. The two devotional stations are stations in exactly the same sense: Sukh Gurbani is built for kirtan, sequenced by the raag of the hour, and Sukh Bhajans for the week and the lunar month, with aarti at first light and last light and group singing between them.
Sukh Radio itself is the mixed language station, the one you leave on when nobody in the house wants to choose between languages at all. One station takes requests and dedications, and that is Salaam-E-Zindagi, which builds its running order out of what listeners send rather than out of a decade or a language.
Every station and every main world language has a site of its own here, written in its own script. Streams start one by one: a site whose stream is not running yet says so plainly in its language and in English, and shows no player until the stream starts. The directory on the home page shows which stations are on air now.
Every station is free to listen to online, wherever you are, once its stream is on air. We broadcast online only. We are not a training, education or regulatory body and we make no claim to any form of accreditation.
